Squizzard (Tempest)

I was tasked with reworking one of our characters who was a lizard wizard. Wlizard was one of the first characters made for the game, and after lots of iterating, the art direction of the game moved much more sci-fi than medieval fantasy. The art team decided that the lizard wizard in a robe carrying a staff stood out a bit, and we were trying to make everything feel more cohesive. I tried to draw on elements from our existing characters to make them feel related.

I concepted the character in Procreate and Photoshop, modeled in Maya and sculpted in ZBrush, retopologized in TopoGun, textured in Substance Painter and 3DCoat. Rig and animation were by my supervisor, Mathias Takacs. Made for Mutant Forge.
